When it comes to smartphone competition, Apple and Samsung are the first names that jump to mind but bigger competition is just around the corner for these two companies.
HTC is one smartphone manufacturing company that is coming up really close in terms of competition and we just couldn’t resist comparing HTC’s Droid DNA smartphone with the Samsung SIII. We had a review on the HTC Droid DNA Review – please go read more in depth detail on the technical specs.
The Samsung SIII is Samsung’s most beautiful smartphone yet and it is hard not to fall in love with it the moment you see it. Based on the Android 4.0 ice cream sandwich operating system, which is now upgradeable to the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. It is equipped with a quad core 1.4GHz processor, a beautiful AMOLED touchscreen and is available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB internal memory variations as well as a micro SD slot that allows for extra memory space.
Samsung SIII Technological Advances
The Samsung SIII is also equipped with a rear 8 megapixel camera and a secondary 1.9 megapixel camera. The device has many more features that make it likeable, some of which include an audio digital assistant, very similar to Siri in the iPhone. Other features of the smartphone include the fact that the phone can detect where your eyes are and the screen automatically tilts to suit your viewing angle. The Best photo feature also helps you select the best picture from a pack of photos. The Samsung SIII is no doubt a powerful device that has taken the smartphone market by storm. There is a lot of anticipation about its supposed successor- the S IV. There have been a lot of speculations about the S IV but with coming months, we hope to have confirmed reports.
HTC Droid DNA – Jelybean heavy Weight
The HTC Droid DNA is a powerful device based on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system and is equipped with a quad core 1.5GHz krait processor and a Qualcomm MDM615 chipset. It is also equipped with an Adreno 320 graphics processor. It has a rear 8 megapixel camera and a secondary 2.1 megapixel camera. The camera features include autofocus, geo-tagging, image stabilization, face and smile detection as well as high and video recording in high definition. This smartphone is all cool but the battery is irremovable so if you have a problem with your battery, there is nothing you can do about it except you head to a smartphone repair store.
The main complaint about the Droid DNA is that it is a tad too big but the same can be said for the Samsung SIII. They are both bigger than most smartphones but they both have good features to offer. If we had to choose though, we will have to go with the Samsung SIII. It is one of the best devices on the market, closest competitor to the iPhone and if we may say, one device that has some features better than the iPhone 5. It is hard not to fall in love with it!
